holding on to patience

"Everything in its time"

Sometimes I wonder what lies ahead
How long till my hunger is fed

They say it's hard to make it in this part of town
So many people on this merry-go-round

Some folks try astrology
Some turn to crystal balls
To find an answer,
To get through it all

I just fall on my knees and I try to pray
In the silence I can hear Him say:
The river runs and the river hides
Out to the ocean and under the sky
I promise you, the answer will come
Hold on to patience and watch for the sign
Everything in its time

I often feel like I'm two steps behind
Somebody must have moved that finish line
There are a thousand reasons
Why I should give up
But I'm stubborn in the things I believe

'cause maybe there's another plan
One I still can't see
A little surprise, like your love in my life
Funny how time changes how we see

I promise you, the answer will come
Hold on to patience and watch for the sign
Everything in its time

Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in Him. Psalm 62:5
The Lord isn't really being slow about His promise, as some people think. No, He is being patient for your sake. 2 Peter 3:9a
God is not a man, so He does not lie. He is not human, so He does not change His mind, has He ever spoken and failed to act? Has He ever promised and not carried it through? Numbers 23:19
So God has given His promise and His oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to Him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us. Hebrew 6:18

stress reliever

Let's take a deep breath..
and....pray..

The LORD is my shepherd; I have all that I need.
He lets me rest in green meadows; He leads me beside peaceful streams.
He renews my strength.
He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name.
Even when I walk through the darkest valley,
I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me.
Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.
You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies.
You honor me by anointing my head with oil.
My cup overflows with blessings.
Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life,
and I will live in the house of the LORD forever.

Let's rest in Him alone!

giving it up

June 9th 2010

When it comes to spiritual matters - God is the Potter, the Creator, and we are the clay. The world says we should never give up our rights because if we do, we will lose everything! God says, "Give up your rights and you will gain everything!" When we surrender, we gain everything that is important.

In order for God to make us into what He wants us to be, we have to become pliable and willing - like clay. We must come to Him, placing ourselves in His hands, the Potter's hands. Total surrender demands that we come with no agenda, no pre-set conditions - giving Him permission to bend us, break us and change us. We sometimes come to God, with a hardened heart and brittle spirit. Life has broken and damaged us and the wrong hands have molded us. Remember, how we come to Him is not nearly as important as the fact that we come. As we give up control to Him, like a Master Craftsman, He begins to work patiently and lovingly, with a specific plan and one-of-a-kind design in mind. He works through circumstances as well as people, through joy and pain, victory and defeat. He filters every part of life through His plan for us and uses it to create a life of worth and meaning.

Oh, we have tried to live life with our own agenda and plan and have experienced discontentment and frustration. Our soul longs for more and our heart cries out, "Is this all there is?" The truth is that nothing and no one but God can bring us the peace and joy for which we searching. Are you ready to become the clay, surrendering your broken life to the Potter's loving and purpose-filled hands? Today is the day!

Isaiah 64:8 "But LORD, you are our father. We are like clay, and you are the potter; your hands made us all" (NCV).

today's breakfast

June 2nd 2010

A special breakfast date with my Father…
at our favorite restaurant : Bible
Today’s special menu : Psalm 6-10

My Father ‘ordered’ this ‘nutritious meal’ for me, simply because He always knows my needs and satisfies them at the right time…

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am sick at heart.
How long O Lord, until You restore me?
The Lord has heard my plea; the Lord will answer my prayer.
For you look deep within the mind and heart, O righteous God.
God is my shield, saving those whose hearts are true and right.
The Lord is a shelter for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.
Those who know Your name trust in You, for You O Lord, do not abandon those who search for You.
But the needy will not be ignored forever; the hopes of the poor will not always be crushed.
The helpless put their trust in You.
Lord, You know the hopes of the helpless.
Surely You will hear their cries and comfort them.
You will bring justice to the orphans and the oppressed, so mere people can no longer terrify them.

Thank You, Dad, for the treat. Thank You for satisfying my hunger. I love You

a couple with superb examples

May 25th 2010

For several times I read Ruth, my eyes and heart always focused on Ruth’s characters. I always admire her. Talk about obedience, faithfulness and SUBMISSION (women’s calling)!
“Don’t ask me to leave you and turn back. Wherever you go, I will go; wherever you live, I will live. Your people will be my people. And your God will be my God. “ Ruth 1:16. It’s been always a “woow” and powerful verse for me. Yeah, a perfect submission, that I keep learning and preparing myself, if there is really one day God wants me to submit to someone He’s prepared!

One of my fave books, Lady in Waiting, talked about Ruth the whole book! Ruth gave me an example, of how Godly woman should be. How a single Godly woman should be. To wait patiently for His perfect time, and to use this waiting “privilege” time to serve Him with no ‘disturbance’. Ruth was kind, a woman of integrity, caring, hardworking, diligent, noble, well known as a good woman and so on. *girls, I highly recommend you to read this book*

I am not gonna talk about Ruth much, ‘coz this time… Boaz attracted me .
From the beginning of chapter 2, I could imagine what a wise, humble, gentle and honorable Boaz was! *the fact that ‘he was a wealthy and influential man’ wasn’t the one that attracted me though.*
*you may read Ruth, it’s worth to read, only 4 chapters ;p*

His blessing to Ruth (v.12), somehow touched my heart: “May the Lord, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge, reward you fully for what you have done.” *my second main love language is ‘words of affirmation’, so sincere words mean a lot to me!*
Ruth replied, “You have comforted me by speaking so kindly to me.” v.13
I was like, “Yes, Ruth! Me too! It would comfort me too if someone said those kind words to me.”

This appealing conversation really made me admiring him even more :$ and led me to read further about Boaz.

BOAZ
Heroes are easier to admire than to define. They are seldom conscious of their moments of heroism, and others may not recognize their acts as heroic. Heroes simply do the right thing at the right time, whether or not they realize the impact their action will have. Perhaps the one quality they share is a tendency to think of others before they think of themselves.

Boaz was a hero.
In his dealings with other people, he was always sensitive to their needs. His words to his employees, relatives, and others were colored with kindness. He offered help openly, not grudgingly. When he discovered who Ruth was, he took several steps to help her because she had been faithful to his relative Naomi. When Naomi advised Ruth to request his protection, he was ready to marry her if the legal complications could be worked out.

Boaz not only did what was right, he was did it right away. Of course he could not foresee all that his actions would accomplish. He could not have known that the child he would have by Ruth would be an ancestor of both David and Jesus. He only met the challenge of taking the right action in the situation facing him.

We are faced with this challenge in our daily choices. We are often more concerned with making the easy choice than with making the right one. Yet more often than not, the right choice is clear. Ask God to give you a special awareness in your choices today as well as renewed commitment to make the right ones.

This is what I like about reading the Scriptures. I might read the same part so many times, but I always find something new. And this time, I found my other example, Boaz.

May this wonderful and heroic couple bless and teach you all, as they have done to me :D

i know You'll be standing by my side

- Journey - by Corrinne May

It's a long long journey
Till I know where I'm supposed to be
It's a long long journey
And I don't know if I can believe
When shadows fall and block my eyes
I am lost and know that I must hide
It's a long long journey
Till I find my way home to you

Many days I've spent
Drifting on through empty shores
Wondering what's my purpose
Wondering how to make me strong

I know I will falter
I know I will cry
I know you'll be standing by my side
It's a long long journey
And I need to be close to you

Sometimes it feels no one understands
I don't even know why
I do the things I do
When pride builds me up till I can't see my soul
Will you break down these walls and pull me through

Cause It's a long long journey
Till I feel that I am worth the price
You paid for me on calvary
Beneath those stormy skies

When Satan mocks and friends turn to foes
It feels like everything is out to make me lose control
It's a long long journey
Till I find my way home to you
To you

Lord, there were moments in my life when I felt terribly exhausted, I doubted Your promises and was impatient, I turned to people, and got disappointed. I felt like hiding from everything.
And I know, it's still a long journey, 'til I don't need to feel those things again.
But Lord, as You were always by my side in every single details in my life, I do believe that You will always be. You have been my only strength and refuge, and I know You will be there with me to fight the battle that make me stronger. I will never be alone.
Though everything seems so blurry, I can only take one step at a time, sometimes it seems that I take a risk, I know that I can count on You never to lead me astray. I have confident facing tomorrows with You.
Draw me close to You, dear Father, 'coz with You is where I long to be. My heart is steadfast, Lord. Amen.

You have chosen the roughest road, but it goes straight to the hilltops. –John Buchan-
